The City of Nicholasville celebrated a major milestone in its continued growth and service to residents with a ceremonial groundbreaking for the future Nicholasville Municipal Center, held on Wednesday, November 19, at 601 N Main Street.
City officials, staff, project partners, and other area leaders gathered at the site to mark the beginning of construction for the long-anticipated facility. Mayor Alex Carter was joined by members of the City Commission, Doug Blackford, Director of General Government, Bob Amato, Director of Public Utilities, and representatives from Brett Construction and Brandstetter Carroll Inc. to commemorate the occasion.
Kelly Jennings, Connections Pastor of Jessamine Christian Church, gave the invocation.

“This facility represents more than a building,” said Mayor Carter. “It’s an investment in our city’s future; creating a centralized, modern space to better serve the people of Nicholasville for generations to come.”

The new center will bring together several city departments currently spread across multiple temporary locations, helping streamline operations and improve access to services for residents.
Construction is now underway, with completion targeted for mid-2027.
