Where we share the good life.
Nicholasville is preparing for the future with the construction of a brand-new Municipal Government Center. For years, city departments have operated out of retrofitted and overcrowded buildings. Now, we’re taking the next step to better serve our growing community by building a centralized, more efficient government facility.
While construction is underway, City Hall offices will remain where they are, but Utility departments temporarily relocated to nearby offices so we can continue to provide uninterrupted service. These temporary changes will keep things running smoothly until the new Municipal Center is complete.
The new 30,068-square-foot building will be constructed on the site of the current City Hall and adjacent lots, including the former Pizza Hut and Utility Office. It will feature:
Nicholasville’s population has grown over 55% since 2000. This project is about meeting those needs today and building for tomorrow.
Construction of the City of Nicholasville’s new Municipal Building continues to move forward on schedule.
Recent blasting work at the site is expected to be completed around mid-March, marking an important step in preparing the foundation for the future facility. Once blasting operations conclude, crews will move directly into the next phase of construction.
The new Municipal Building represents a significant investment in the City’s future and will help support continued growth and improved services for residents.
