The Nicholasville Fire Department opens its application process when vacancies occur. Applications are not kept on file for future openings.
General qualifications and requirements for firefighters:
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must pass a written test
- Must pass the CPAT (Candidate Physical Aptitude Test)
- Must pass background and reference checks
- If offered employment, must pass a physical exam And more.

Position Requirements
- At least 19 years of age

- Valid Driver’s License (from current state of residence)
- Current CPAT card if applicable (out of state applicants or those not currently working for a career department)

- Salary: $46,259.20 plus training incentive
- Annual Training Incentive Pay: $4,300.00

**Upon completion of 300 Hour Kentucky Basic II Certification, Firefighter annual pay with incentive is $52,855.52
