The City of Nicholasville is currently accepting applications for the following positions:

Public Works Superintendent

The City of Nicholasville Human Resources Department will accept applications for Public Works Department for a Public Works Superintendent, grade 60, Pay scale $40.45 to $56.65. The hiring rate will be determined during the final step of the hiring process.

Under general administrative direction, plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and evaluates the activities and programs of the Public Works Department, including the streets, cemetery and cemetery maintenance. Performs related work as required and serves as the Cemetery Sexton. 

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED supplemented by five years related work experience including two years supervisory experience. Must possess and maintain a valid KY Commercial driver’s license or obtain a Commercial driver’s license within one year after appointment to the position. Must maintain a Commercial driver’s license throughout employment in the department.

Meter Reader I

The City of Nicholasville Human Resources Department will accept applications for Meter Department for a Meter Reader I, grade 52, Pay scale $ 19.30 to $ 24.10. The hiring rate will be determined during the final step of the hiring process.

Duties include reading water and electric meters; locating meters; connects and disconnects of services; related duties as required.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED supplemented by one year work experience including frequent contact with the public. Must possess and maintain a valid KY driver’s license.

The Nicholasville Fire Department accepts applications year-round for this position.
