The City of Nicholasville Fire Marshal conducts fire inspections and reviews plans utilizing the Kentucky Standards of Safety KAR 815:10:060, The 2018 Kentucky Building Code, the 2015 International Fire Code, National Fire Protection Codes 1 and 101, and all other referenced codes for inspections.

When starting a business within the City, schedule your fire inspection as soon as possible. Inspections are conducted annually on multi-residential and commercial buildings.

The State Fire Marshal has exclusive jurisdiction/inspections over state-owned property and primary jurisdiction for code compliance for health care facilities and other facilities licensed by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
