Turn up the music, turn up the activities, turn up the fun! The Jessamine County Tourism Commission and the City of Nicholasville banded together to host an impressive lineup of musical guests throughout the summer.

On the first Friday of each month, May through December, downtown Nicholasville’s Performance Park transformed into a stage for the night.

While the performances featured a wide variety of genres, the musicians did have one thing in common – they were all locals to the Nicholasville or Lexington area! The concerts often featured area food trucks as well.

“The [concert series] was so fun for so many of our residents, and the acts really rocked the house,” said Charla Reed, Executive Director of the Jessamine County Tourism Commission.

The bands that performed at these family-friendly events included the Commonwealth Band, Encore, Moron Brothers, Five Below, the Jessamine County Schools Showcase, and many more.

“It was important to the City Commission to bring residents and visitors alike to the downtown area,” said Raven Trainor, Assistant City Clerk. “This is just one stepping stone in the path we are taking to bring life, fun, and people back to downtown Nicholasville.”

Residents and live music lovers can expect the Summer Concert Series to return to Performance Park in the spring of 2024. Stay tuned for artist announcements.
