Nicholasville Is Accepting Applications For:

Wastewater Plant Operator Trainee

The City of Nicholasville Human Resources Department will accept applications to fill the position for Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Supervisor, grade 27, rate range per hour min $ 22.16 max grade scale $ 29.92. Final hiring rate determined during final step of interview process Under general administrative supervision, assumes responsibility of the daily maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant, supervises personnel assigned to maintenance, assists in the daily operation of the wastewater plant, may assume responsibility of the plant in the absence of a higher authority; performs related work as required.
Applicant must have a high school degree or GED supplemented by a minimum of three (3) years directly related work experience and one (1) year of supervisory experience. Education from an accredited college or university may be substituted for work experience requirements.

Must posses a minimum of Class II Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification. Must obtain a Class III Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator license within 12 months of eligibility. Must posses and maintain a driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a condition of continued employment. Must be able to work irregular shifts, including evenings, nights and weekends. Must perform standby dutes. Must be able to respond to calls in emergency situations alt all hours.

Wastewater Plant Operator Trainee

The City of Nicholasville is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Plant Operator Trainee, grade 19, rate range per hour min $ 15.00 max grade scale $ 20.25. Final hiring rate determined during final step of interview process. Duties include but are not limited to assisting in the daily operation and maintenance of the Wastewater Plant, including performing lab tests and related work as required. Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED); must obtain Wastewater Treatment Operators License up to and including Class III license as experience and time line requirements are met. Must posses and maintain a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Refer to job description for more details. This is a full time position with benefits.
