Planning and Zoning Building Inspector


The City of Nicholasville will accept applications to fill a position in the Administration, Planning and Zoning Department for Building Inspector, grade 26, rate range per hour min $21.53 – max over a period of time $29.07, Final hiring rate determined during final step of interview process. Under general direction and supervision, administers and enforces building and zoning codes, condemnation codes, subdivision regulations, and ordinances: performs related work as required. Must have as least one (1) of the following credentials to enter the Kentucky Certified Building Inspector Program:
A) A notarized copy of high school or general education diploma and
1) a letter from an employer showing two (2) years experience in a responsible, directly-related, construction position, such as a foreman which required the ability to effectively read and interpret building plans and specification or
2) a letter from an employer showing two (2) years experience in an architect's or engineer's office performing building design or drafting duties.
B) A certified copy of a college or university transcript for an associate degree in a construction related subject.
C) A certified copy of a college or university transcript for a bachelor degree in architecture, engineering, fire science, or building technology. (See also Certification Requirements)
Applicant must possess/obtain the following as a condition of continued employment: a valid driver's license (possess at the time of hire and maintain), One and Two Family Dwelling Inspection Certification ( Ky Dept of Housing), (obtain within the first 6 months of employment and maintain).

Senior Building Inspector


Sr Building Inspector, grade 28, rate range per hour min $23.74 – max over a period of time $32.04, Final hiring rate determined during final step of interview process. Under general direction and supervision, administers and enforces building and zoning codes, condemnation codes, subdivision regulations, and ordinances: performs related work as required. Applicants must have a high school degree or GED, supplemented by 2 years directly related work experience: additional directly related education may be substituted for work experience requirement on a year for year basis. Applicant must possess at the time of hire and maintain the following as a condition of continued employment: a valid driver's license, One and Two Family Dwelling Inspection Certification ( Ky Dept of Housing) and Level I Building Certification ( Ky Dept of Housing).

FIREFIGHTER / EMT RECRUIT
